Reunion Teasers - 2019 Washington D.C.
Keeping abreast of the latest activities for the reunion
The plans are set and the reunion registration is now available. See the reunion information page for the reunion registration form. Make your plans and we’ll see you in Washington D.C. – hooyah.
WAHOOOOOO~~~!!!! I just received a confirmation Email from the US Naval Academy. The Bausell Reunion Group's reservation for use of the Naval Academy Chapel has been confirmed. So, we will be conducting our memorial service in the Chapel. Believe it or not, you have to get special permission to use the Chapel and we got it! I'm dancing in the street over the good news. So, tell all of your shipmates that this is the reunion to attend, because we may never have another chance to use the Naval Academy Chapel.
I have signed the contract for the 2019 reunion to be held at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel. The reunion dates are July 17 - 21, 2019 and an optional tour on Monday, July 22if enough folks are interested.
The Hilton Hotel is a full-service hotel only three miles from Washington Dulles Airport and has shuttle service to and from the airport. It is about a 30-minute drive to downtown Washington, DC from the hotel. The reunion room rate will be $109.00(plus tax) per night with two free breakfasts each morning. Additional tickets for guests will be available for $10 per day, per person. The hotel does offer shuttle service to shopping and restaurants within a limited distance.
The Hilton even has free parking which in the Metro DC area is hard to find. Here a link to the hotel website: http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/virginia/hilton-Washington-Dulles-airport-IADAHHF/index.html
The Hilton as you all know is a top flight hotel and they offered the best deal. Other major hotels wanted anywhere from $149 - $179 per night and no breakfast, and they wanted to charge us a use charge on the hospitality room and the banquet room. Basically, they wanted to charge us like we were a corporation with deep pockets.
One of our tours will be to the Naval Academy and I'm still working on planning another tour. More info on that later.
